Kawan is an associate attorney at Mazzola Mardon, P.C., working in all aspects of labor union representation. Before law school, Kawan started his career as a labor organizer for SEIU, Local 1 in Chicago, Illinois. Kawan worked in the General Counsel's Office of the National Labor Relations Board after his first year in law school and at a class action employment law firm following his second year of law school. Kawan also participated in the Pro Bono Scholars Program, wherein he provided legal support to the National Day Laborers Organizing Network, as well as in NYU's Civil Litigation - Employment Law Clinic.
